The American Peace Information Center and American Veterans Committee Jointly Remember Memorial Day
This Memorial Day, the American Peace Information Center (APIC) and American Veterans
Committee (AVC) join together to honor those who needlessly perished in wars of imperialist
aggression. We recognize their courage and commitment, often made under conditions not of
their own choosing. These individuals were sons, daughters, siblings, and parents—workers
who gave everything in conflicts shaped by forces far beyond their control.
APIC and AVC understands that these individual sacrifices are the result of a broader system.
U.S. military power has long served to maintain global dominance and secure economic
interests, often at the expense of human life and self-determination abroad.
The highest honor we can offer to those who have fallen is to work toward a world where such
sacrifices are no longer required. We call for an end to endless war, for a reallocation of
resources from weapons to human needs, and for a deep reckoning with the consequences of
American militarism at home and abroad.
We stand in solidarity with all those negatively affected by an economic system that perpetuates
greed and foreign military interventions.
