PLANTATION, FL – Members from Movement for Peoples Democracy (MPD) tabled and spoke at a multicultural fair which was held for the first time to build unity among different communities across southern Florida. The event was also held to mourn the one year anniversary of the tragic loss of innocent life on October 7th and the genocidal invasion of the Gaza Strip by the Netanyahu regime.
The event started with speeches from the participants. Speakers outline a variety of issues including the Israeli aggressions across the Middle East, the blockade on Cuba, and issues affecting Haitian-American communities.
Various groups participated in the fair representing the diverse communities of southern Florida. Groups such as Al-Awda, Dream Defenders, Miami Coalition to End the Blockade of Cuba, Rohi’s Readery, Good Samaritan’s Relief Organization, and Casa de la Colombianidad.
The event was a great success. MPD members were able to reach out to the community in southern Florida and foster a stronger connection with different local organizations. MPD displayed an array of items directly from our coalition affiliates, such as Labor United Educational League (LUEL), Peoples LGBT+ United Society (PLUS), United Jewish Peoples Fraternal Order (UJPFO), and New Outlook Publishers (NOP).
Members of MPD look forward forward to participating and continuing to strengthen ties with the community.
The mission of the MPD is to unite as many pro-democracy forces as possible in the United States to develop a united front against fascism, the greatest threat to peace, without exception to race, color, creed, religion, political affiliation, gender, or national origin.  Learn more about Movement for Peoples Democracy here: https://www.movementforpeoplesdemocracy.us/ .
