For the Unity of Action by All Working People in Defense of Their Living Standards, Their Civil Liberties, and in Defense of World Peace
TO ALL PEOPLE:
On May First, people of the entire world will celebrate the one hundred thirty-ninth anniversary of that day which was born out of the struggle of the American working class for the eight-hour day.
May Day is the day when the workers of the world demonstrate their international solidarity. On this day they close ranks and press forward to new struggles.
Let us reclaim our history on May 1st. Let us go out into the streets and demonstrate that, in this time of crises, we refuse to stay silent. Let the rulers in Wall Street and Washington hear that we will fight for bread for our families, for peace and against the forces of reaction. Let the unity of labor defeat the menace of international fascism. Let unity of workers blaze the way to social justice.
PEOPLES UNITY TO SMASH FASCISM
Reactionaries are abroad in the land. Donald Trump and his oligarchal administration are taking over the government. Reactionary forces have launched a bitter attack against our democratic rights, our civil liberties, and against our working-class organizations. The anti-union forces of Wall Street aim to make the United States one vast sweatshop.
Let the people demonstrate in the streets on May Day against these reactionary forces. Let the whole country ring with the united voice of labor. Let financial capital and oligarchs and their puppets in the Supreme Court and Congress know that under no circumstances will the American working class permit them to establish fascism in this country.
TO FIGHT FOR OUR LIVING STANDARDS IS TO FIGHT FINANCIAL CAPITAL AND THE OLIGARCHS
Our demonstrations must be a living defiance against reaction. We must serve notice that we will not yield an inch to the pressure of reaction. We must show through an Anti-Monopoly Popular Front that all Americans can and will prevent the victory of fascism.
Trump tells us the economy is getting better, while American people starve. The bankers, employers, and war profiteers have become fat under continued government handouts. Their profits have multiplied by hundreds of percent. While they hoard their billions, the children of the workers are deprived of food and housing by the high cost of living.
The Trump administration boasts of recovery, but this recovery has only brought increased profits for the speculators and bankers. Our government officials use their position to engage in corrupt acts such as insider trading and tariff wars which would impoverish the American people. For the workers it has brought back breaking speed-ups, wage cuts, and sky-high food and rent. Two-thirds of Americans cannot afford a $400 emergency.
In this, the richest country in the world, millions are living below the poverty line. Yet the reactionaries through the capitalist-controlled media are demanding that all programs be cut, and that nothing should be done to relieve the distress of the working population.
SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR ALL IMMIGRANTS
Labor must extend its hand to the increasing immigrant community, doubly oppressed and exploited by the capitalist rulers.May Day must become a day of struggle against discrimination, and a day of struggle for the full political, social and economic equality of all immigrant communities.
We must resist the efforts of the bosses to profit from child labor. No immigrant child should have their life warped and stunted by back-breaking work in the factories. We must fight for the abolition of all child labor.
FOR PEACE AND EQUALITY, FOR SOCIALISM
No capitalist country is so ripe for socialism as the United States, where the workers have built up the greatest, formerly productive plants in the world. Inspired by the great victories of socialism throughout the world, where unemployment was abolished, where different nationalities lived in peace, let us resolve that we in the United States fight for the victory of socialism.
Workers, Immigrants, the LGBT+ Community, Socialists, Communists, trade unionists, the unemployed, must rise up on May Day to demonstrate the power of the American working class. Let this May Day become the day from which the American working class will build a multi-national anti-imperialist political movement.
- Rise up on May First!
- For the six-hour day, for the five-day week without reduction in pay! For higher wages, against the high cost of living! We cry out for a thirty-hour work week at forty-hour pay!
- Make every city a union city!
- For unemployment, old age and social insurance!
- For full social, political and economic equality for all oppressed communities! Jobs and schools for American youth!
- For an Anti-Monopoly Labor-led Coalition against war and fascism!
- End the genocide in Palestine! Implement the two-state solution with full UN recognition of an independent Palestinian state.
- Complete abolition of the NATO aggressive alliance!
- Use the experience of the former Soviet Union as a guide to building real socialism in the United States!

Por la unidad de acción de todos los trabajadores en defensa de su nivel de vida, sus libertades civiles y la paz mundial.
A TODOS LOS PUEBLOS:
El Primero de Mayo, los pueblos del mundo entero celebrarán el ciento treinta y nueve aniversario de ese dÃa, nacido de la lucha de la clase obrera estadounidense por la jornada laboral de ocho horas.
El Primero de Mayo es el dÃa en que los trabajadores del mundo demuestran su solidaridad internacional. En este dÃa, cierran filas y avanzan hacia nuevas luchas.
Reivindiquemos nuestra historia el 1 de Mayo. Salgamos a las calles y demostremos que, en estos tiempos de crisis, nos negamos a callar. Que los gobernantes de Wall Street y Washington escuchen que lucharemos por el pan para nuestras familias, por la paz y contra las fuerzas de la reacción. Que la unidad del trabajo derrote la amenaza del fascismo internacional. Que la unidad de los trabajadores abra el camino hacia la justicia social.
UNIDAD POPULAR PARA APLASTAR AL FASCISMO
Los reaccionarios están por todas partes. Donald Trump y su administración oligárquica están tomando el control del gobierno. Fuerzas reaccionarias han lanzado un ataque feroz contra nuestros derechos democráticos, nuestras libertades civiles y nuestras organizaciones obreras. Las fuerzas antisindicales de Wall Street pretenden convertir a Estados Unidos en una inmensa fábrica de explotación.
Que el pueblo se manifieste en las calles el Primero de Mayo contra estas fuerzas reaccionarias. Que todo el paÃs resuene con la voz unida de los trabajadores. Que el capital financiero, los oligarcas y sus tÃteres en la Corte Suprema y el Congreso sepan que bajo ninguna circunstancia la clase trabajadora estadounidense permitirá que instauren el fascismo en este paÃs.
LUCHAR POR NUESTRO NIVEL DE VIDA ES LUCHAR CONTRA EL CAPITAL FINANCIERO Y LOS OLIGARCAS
Nuestras manifestaciones deben ser un desafÃo viviente a la reacción. Debemos dejar claro que no cederemos ni un ápice ante la presión de la reacción. Debemos demostrar mediante un Frente Popular Antimonopolio que todos los estadounidenses pueden y quieren impedir la victoria del fascismo. Trump nos dice que la economÃa está mejorando, mientras que el pueblo estadounidense se muere de hambre. Los banqueros, empleadores y especuladores de la guerra se han enriquecido con las continuas ayudas del gobierno. Sus ganancias se han multiplicado por cientos. Mientras acumulan miles de millones, los hijos de los trabajadores se ven privados de comida y vivienda por el alto costo de la vida.
La administración Trump se jacta de la recuperación, pero esta solo ha traÃdo mayores ganancias para los especuladores y banqueros. Nuestros funcionarios gubernamentales utilizan su posición para participar en actos corruptos como el tráfico de información privilegiada y las guerras arancelarias que empobrecerÃan al pueblo estadounidense. Para los trabajadores, ha traÃdo de vuelta la aceleración desastrosa, recortes salariales, los precios de comida y alquileres exorbitantes. Dos tercios de los estadounidenses no pueden permitirse una emergencia de $400.
En este, el paÃs más rico del mundo, millones viven por debajo del umbral de la pobreza. Sin embargo, los reaccionarios, a través de los medios de comunicación controlados por el capitalismo, exigen que se recorten todos los programas y que no se haga nada para aliviar la miseria de la población trabajadora.
JUSTICIA SOCIAL PARA TODOS LOS INMIGRANTES
Los trabajadores deben extender su mano a la creciente comunidad inmigrante, doblemente oprimida y explotada por los gobernantes capitalistas. El Primero de Mayo debe convertirse en un dÃa de lucha contra la discriminación y en un dÃa de lucha por la plena igualdad polÃtica, social y económica de todas las comunidades inmigrantes.
Debemos resistir los esfuerzos de los patrones por lucrarse con el trabajo infantil. Ningún niño inmigrante deberÃa ver su vida deformada y atrofiada por el trabajo agotador en las fábricas. Debemos luchar por la abolición de todo trabajo infantil.
POR LA PAZ Y LA IGUALDAD, POR EL SOCIALISMO
Ningún paÃs capitalista está tan maduro para el socialismo como Estados Unidos, donde los trabajadores han construido las plantas más grandes y antes productivas del mundo. Inspirados por las grandes victorias del socialismo en todo el mundo, donde se abolió el desempleo y donde las diferentes nacionalidades vivieron en paz, decidamos que en Estados Unidos luchamos por la victoria del socialismo.
Trabajadores, inmigrantes, la comunidad LGBT+, socialistas, comunistas, sindicalistas, desempleados, deben alzarse el Primero de Mayo para demostrar el poder de la clase trabajadora estadounidense. Que este Primero de Mayo se convierta en el dÃa en que la clase trabajadora estadounidense construya un movimiento polÃtico antiimperialista multinacional.
• ¡Levántate el Primero de Mayo!
• ¡Por la jornada laboral de seis horas, por la semana de cinco dÃas sin reducción salarial! ¡Por salarios más altos, contra el alto costo de la vida! ¡Clamamos por una semana laboral de treinta horas con un salario de cuarenta!
• ¡Que cada ciudad sea una ciudad sindical!
• ¡Por el desempleo, la jubilación y el seguro social!
• ¡Por la plena igualdad social, polÃtica y económica para todas las comunidades oprimidas! ¡Empleos y escuelas para la juventud estadounidense!
• ¡Por una coalición antimonopolio liderada por los trabajadores contra la guerra y el fascismo!
• ¡Acabemos con el genocidio en Palestina! ¡Implementemos la solución de dos Estados con el pleno reconocimiento de la ONU de un Estado palestino independiente!
• ¡Abolición total de la alianza agresiva de la OTAN!
• ¡Utilizar la experiencia de la ex Unión Soviética como guÃa para construir un socialismo real en Estados Unidos!
