Ukrainian Canadian Organization Fundraises for Azov Battaltion

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) fundraises for Nazi Azov Battalion as it recruits Canadian mercenaries

Written by: Marthad Umucyaba

The Canada Files has found that the Canadian government-backed Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), Nazi honourers who defend Yaroslav Hunka, have quietly done a fundraiser for the Nazi Azov 12th Special Forces Brigade.

This fundraiser comes in the context of active recruitment of Canadian ‘veterans’ into the Azov Regiment, a Nazi regiment infamous for various war crimes against the peoples of the Donbass, and among whose members have already been convicted of said crimes.

UCC’s Nazi Fundraising

In ‘honour’ of the Nazi 12th Azov Special Brigade, indoctrinated Ukrainian Canadians did a ‘charity run’ to collect funds for the rogue and criminal unit largely responsible for brutally enforcing the Nazi ideology of the state. The fundraiser was sold shamelessly as a battle for ‘independence’. The Maidan coup, instigated by NATO leadership in 2013-2014, that made Ukraine a full-on NATO anti-Russia proxy, is well known.

The 12th Azov Special Brigade was founded and run initially by Andriy Biletsky, infamous for threatening to kill Volodomyr Zelensky while asserting military rule of the state of Ukraine, and for the following quote in a written commentary:

“The historic mission of our nation in this moment is to lead the white races in the world in a final crusade for their survival. A crusade against the Semite-led Untermenschen.”

It is illegal under Canadian law for a registered non-profit or charity to support a foreign government’s military. However, this is being shamelessly done out in the open by the UCC. As an added insult, the Canadian government is regularly rewarding the UCC for its repeated legal transgressions and Nazi honouring with regular grants in the hundreds of thousands.

Glenn Michalchuk, President of the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians says the story:

“raised the concern of many that such an open display of support for an organization with such close links to neo-nazism would be the centre of a local activity especially on Ukraine Independence Day.”

Michalchuk emphasized that such fundraising in connection to Ukrainian history is egregious:

“The history of Ukraine is intimately connected to the struggle against Nazism in World War II.

The land and people of Ukraine suffered tremendous losses from the Nazi invasion. The injuries were made more grievous by the role of collaborators who joined the Nazis with the plan that they would rule a Nazi occupied Ukraine.”

It should be of little surprise that the same UCC has repeatedly honoured the Waffen SS 14th (Galicia) Division.

Footsies with the Foreign Enlistment Act

While the UCC is gathering donations for the 12th Azov Special Brigade, the 3rd Special Assault Brigade of the Nazi-led Azov Tactical Group has recently published a video, through the International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine (ILDU), promoting their successful recruitment of mercenaries from Canada.

The packages are notably lucrative, at up to $4800 USD per month for front line work, with all living expenses covered (provided you survived longer than a month, with an average life expectancy of four hours), and even higher pay monthly with any specialised prior training or education. There is even a handsome $400,000 USD compensation payout if you were to perish (provided an army as corrupt as Ukraine’s could be trusted to follow through on that compensation).

In general, working as a foreign mercenary is not actually illegal. At, least, not in Ukraine’s case, according to Canada’s Foreign Enlistment Act. It is generally legal so long as the enemy you’re fighting isn’t a ‘friendly foreign state’, as in, a NATO state, a puppet regime, or a colony key to NATO interests like Israel, according to provision 3 and other subsequent similar provisions:

3 Any person who, being a Canadian national, within or outside Canada, voluntarily accepts or agrees to accept any commission or engagement in the armed forces of any foreign state at war with any friendly foreign state or, whether a Canadian national or not, within Canada, induces any other person to accept or agree to accept any commission or engagement in any such armed forces is guilty of an offence.

If you chose to fight on the side of Russia, for example, you would be breaking the law. It is still, however, illegal to recruit mercenaries or to induce anyone to join a foreign army. This is true at least within Canada, according to provision 11 (1). A noted exception is included if, for example, you’re an Israeli ambassador, and want to recruit people with Israeli nationality from Canada who have yet to gain Canadian citizenship, in accordance with the exception in 11 (2) of the Foreign Enlistment Act:

11 (1) Any person who, within Canada, recruits or otherwise induces any person or body of persons to enlist or to accept any commission or engagement in the armed forces of any foreign state or other armed forces operating in that state is guilty of an offence.

(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to the action of foreign consular or diplomatic officers or agents in enlisting persons who are nationals of the countries they represent and not Canadian nationals, in conformity with the regulations of the Governor in Council.

So if anyone, while in Canada, were to repost an online video of the International Legion for the Defence of the Ukraine 3rd Assault Brigade, specifically mentioning Canadians, which is part of the Azov Tactical Group that far-right Nazi Andriy Biletsky is leading, they would be guilty of an offence under 11 (1). Whether this would be prosecuted, is another question entirely.

NATO’s colonial ‘rule of law’ and its fictions

“After hearing all the evidence the members of the jury do not think the Earl should be condemned to die.  Lord Hartford strongly disagrees with this judgement and says, ‘Whenever has innocence been cause to save a man’s life when the King deems him unfit to live in the commonwealth?  The law is whatever his majesty says it is.’  Eventually the jury finds him guilty. Surrey will be hanged, drawn, and quartered in London.  The courtroom crowd’s anger swells to a near riot at this news.”

The glorious and magnificent mythos of the ‘rule of law’ in Canada and in the rest of the NATO member states has come to an end. The law will be whatever suits the NATO white supremacist party line. Immunity and exceptions will be arbitrary and so will convictions.

The enemy of human civilization always was, is, and will continue to be colonialism. The modern manifestation of this ideology is Nazism and fascism. However, even the Nazis themselves will profess to be inspired by the Hindu caste system, reinforced by the British colonial occupation, and the genocide being committed by the USA and Canada for centuries.

Nazis have always found a comfortable home in the NATO states such as Canada and in NATO puppet regimes like Argentina, after humiliating defeats against their mortal enemy, the communists. NATO states have always allowed them to have a hand in the domestic and foreign policy of the country. And now NATO, the King of Colonialism throughout the world, is leaning on their Nazis more than ever, to provide a veneer of organic popular support. Whether you are deemed ‘fit’ to live in the NATO commonwealth or not will depend on the King’s mood. The law is whatever his majesty says it is.

Article sent from The Canada Files on behalf of US Friends of the Soviet People

US Friends of the Soviet People is dedicated to supporting struggles to restore socialism in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. USFSP is the US affiliate to the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with the Soviet People. The International Council carries on the traditions of the “Hands Off Russia” committees that were established internationally in 1918 to help protect the young Soviet Republics from foreign intervention. The aim of all Friends of the Soviet People is international cooperation in building socialism and solidarity with the anti-imperialist forces of the world who are struggling against US Imperialism — the main enemy of humanity. USFSP acts as a unifying force to help consolidate and coordinate the anti-imperialist forces of the world with the ongoing movement to restore the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe as socialist states. We act as a unifying front, but are not a forum for ideological debates. The people of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe themselves will choose their paths toward socialism.
