The Party of Communists USA gives support for our comrades in Iran in their struggle for peace, freedom (from persecution), and democracy while not being beholden to Imperialism. The aggressive actions of the United States in the region amount to bullying against the international community and against humanity as a whole. The Communists of Iran have sent a declaration, an analysis of the ongoing war from the Trump and Netanyahu regimes.
Statement of the Tudeh Party of Iran: For Peace, the Preservation of Iran’s Territorial Integrity, and Confronting the Conspiracies of U.S. Imperialism and the Criminal Netanyahu Government
Dear compatriots,
For seven days now, our homeland has been under the most intense aggressive and criminal attacks by the military forces of the United States and Israel. During this time, according to the statistics released so far, more than one thousand of our fellow citizens—including many children—have lost their lives, thousands have been wounded, and large parts of the country’s cities have been destroyed or severely damaged as a result of devastating aerial bombardments.
In recent days, Donald Trump has brazenly and recklessly spoken about the “necessity of personally deciding the future of Iran.” In an interventionist and provocative move, he has encouraged and supported Kurdish forces stationed in Iraqi Kurdistan to attack Iran—effectively to initiate a civil war—in cooperation with other mercenary forces affiliated with imperialism and Israel.
The Tudeh Party of Iran had previously warned clearly in its statement of 29 February (10 Esfand) that:
“We are fully aware that U.S. imperialism and its regional allies—particularly the racist Netanyahu government—together with their Iranian mercenaries, including Reza Pahlavi, have sinister plans to destroy the country and its capabilities. Their aim is to turn Iran into a semi-colony of the United States in the region, or to drag the country into prolonged ethnic and religious civil wars (similar to what occurred in Libya or Syria) in order to completely destroy national sovereignty and ultimately partition Iran.”
In recent days we have also witnessed an escalation of conspiracies and provocative actions by U.S. imperialism and the Netanyahu government—actions pursued through the organization of missile attacks aimed at fueling tensions and conflicts between Iran and Turkey, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, and several other countries in the region. The objective is to expand the scope of the crisis and draw a broad front of regional countries into a war against Iran.
Dear compatriots, national and freedom-loving forces of the country,
In the current extremely sensitive and decisive circumstances, mobilizing global public opinion to end the military aggression of U.S. imperialism and the criminal Israeli government against Iran and to achieve an immediate ceasefire is one of the most important tasks facing all progressive, national, and peace-loving forces. Great dangers threaten the future of the country and its territorial integrity. Effectively confronting these threats is possible only through joint efforts and the broad mobilization of public opinion at the global level.
In these difficult conditions, while defending the country’s right to national sovereignty, the people of Iran above all seek an end to the war and the establishment of peace so that they can determine the future of the country free from any foreign interference. They call for opening a path toward a national and democratic government, the immediate and unconditional release of all political, ideological, and civil prisoners, and the creation of conditions that allow them to play an active and effective role in determining their own destiny.
For its part, the Tudeh Party of Iran declares its full readiness to deploy all its capacities, resources, and capabilities to help form and expand a broad global movement in defense of peace.
