Jewish Affairs Archive Now Available!

Jewish Affairs was the newsletter publication of the Jewish Commission of the Communist Party USA.

In its own words, Jewish Affairs’ “primary purpose [was] to provide information and views not otherwise being made available on events and issues affecting the Jewish people.” Among other things, the newsletter offered a working class, anti-Zionist perspective on issues and contemporary events that affected or were of interest to Jewish Americans. Topics covered include developments in Israel and Palestine, the Rosenberg case, commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, and dispelling myths about the treatment of Jews in the Soviet Union.

Notable authors in Jewish Affairs include Hyman Lumer, Herbert Aptheker, as well as Meir Vilner, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Israel.
